So it has been wayyyyyyyyyy too long since I've written in here so part of my New Year's resolution is to write in here at least twice a week!! So I know its been almost a year since I've posted anything but I figured I'd write a post to kind of sum up the past year in preparation for the new year :) This year has truly been the most amazing year of my life!! As far as the physical therapy goes I've made substantial progress towards my goal of walking!! I've regained a lot of movement in my quads and hamstrings and I've gained a lot of upper body strength all helping my to get closer to finally getting back on my feet! Another huge thing this year is that were getting ready to move into our new house and I cannot wait to finally have my own space!! Ill have my own little apartment so I can work on being as independent as possible but I can still have my own space :)
buttttt
The biggest thing that has happened to me this year though has been that the most amazing girl has come into my life :) :) :) This girl is the most amazing, beautiful and kind person I have ever met. She makes me smile and she makes me the happiest guy in the world. She means the world to me and I never understood what it meant to love someone as much as I love this girl and I really didn't think it was possible to love someone this much :) I cannot wait to wake up next to her and see her smile and get to kiss her goodnight! I thank God everyday for bringing her into my life and she is the most important thing in my life. I CANNOT wait to spend my life with her :) :) I love you soooooo much Lauren Joseph!!!
Some of the greatest things happen when you least expect it :) :)
I hope everyone had an amazing 2011 and I can't wait to see what 2012 has in store!!!
God Bless,
Darin

Just the beginning
So I get this week to relax before I head back to school but I just got back from two weeks at KKI and I had the best two weeks since my injury! I now have substantial movement in my left leg and my my triceps are finally making progress! I feel like this is just the beginning of amazing things! It's crazy how it becomes the little things in life that matter the most :)...On another note it is Martin Luther King day today and I think it's ridiculous how kids have the day off. The kids need to go to school and have a cultural learning type of day where they learn about Dr. King and everything he did for this world. He helped show the world that the color of your skin is only that, a color. He showed that your life should be measured by the words you speak and the actions you partake in. Dr. King stood up to and fought against hate and violence and was a true leader in every sense of the word.
“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy”- Dr. Martin Luther King
